Animal Welfare First: Why We Do Not Work with Exotic Skins
Skins from protected or endangered wild animals have no place in our range. Nothing we sell is real crocodile leather, snake leather, or any other exotic skin. We do not support breeding operations that raise animals under questionable conditions purely to serve short-lived fashions — neither directly nor through intermediaries. This is not a marketing promise; it is a condition of every purchasing decision we make.
Using Materials That Already Exist, Rather Than Luxury at the Expense of Wildlife
What we work with is a by-product of the food industry: cattle, buffalo, water buffalo, and calf. Rather than leaving these hides unused, we turn them into materials that last for decades. Distinctive textures — the popular crocodile and snake patterns among them — are embossed mechanically into ordinary real leather. The look is there; not one exotic animal has to be kept for it.

Before any goods enter our stock, the source is checked. We turn down hides without verifiable origin, and hides from intensive farming with no recognizable standards. We treat disclosure as ongoing work, not as a label on a homepage. Whether the order is a commercial contract or a single piece for a private project, the same standards apply to the selection.

We work between traditional craft and present-day trade, and we see ourselves as a dependable link between the two. What we tell you has to still hold true after delivery.
• Honesty: Statements about properties and origin are neither dressed up nor conveniently shortened.
• Transparency: Where the natural material ends and synthetic material begins, we say so plainly.
2. Product Safety and Applicable Standards
Our products must be safe for people and for the environment.
• REACH requirements: Chemical limits, including those arising from the tanning process, are observed without exception.
• Goods inspection: Every production and delivery batch is checked for durability and for the characteristics typical of the material.
3. Due Diligence Along the Supply Chain
Consideration for animals and the environment is a standing obligation for us, not a seasonal topic.
• Gentler processes: We give preference to leathers tanned by ecological methods and value production that uses resources sparingly.
• Working conditions: We expect our partners to pay fair wages and to observe binding social standards.
4. Trust Online and How We Handle Your Data
We keep data storage to the minimum necessary.
• Data protection law: The GDPR applies in Germany and Austria; in Switzerland, the revised FADP applies in addition.
• Payments: We offer only vetted and secured payment methods.
• Marketing email: Newsletters are sent only after confirmed sign-up by double opt-in.
5. How We Deal with Competitors and Business Partners
What counts for us is a relationship that still holds after years. We speak about competitors factually, and what our clients tell us in confidence stays where it belongs.
